Aldridge Roofing (Suffolk)

We asked Aldridge Roofing to inspect and repair a problem roof leak on our large Georgian Listed house. The location on the roof was an internal valley and very innacesible. Robert Aldridge responded promptly, identified two problem dormer windows and quoted for releading them and repairing the surrounding failing roof areas. He arranged for the scaffolding and carried out the work, in spite of very difficult weather and material supply issues, exactly to his estimate.

We have used Aldridge Roofing several times when maintaining the roof on our old Georgian house and have found Robert and his team invariably prompt in responding to our requests. His work has been excellent and at a reasonable cost. Robert himself is always courteous, and helpful and we have complete trust in his work.

The scaffolders he organised were efficient, courteous and skillful.

The leak occurred during the Covid crisis. The bad weather caused some delay in his programme but he fitted us in as quickly as he could. He had considerable difficulty obtaining the lead and other materials required but managed to get all that he needed to complete the job, without any delays.

We have no hesitation in recommending Aldridge Roofing to anyone having a need of his services.

Two layers of torch on felts on a very large garden room and shed structure. Aldridge Roofing had already put a tile roof onto our bedroom and shower room extension earlier in the year. They made a very good job of an unusual roof shape.
They had agreed to roof the garden room and shed prior to its construction. Once the structure had been completed they put on two layers of torch-on felt and the trim over a period of three days (they are very good and therefore VERY busy).
We are really pleased with the result.

Rework wrongly constructed roof gully''s and lead flashing on new extension which was causing roof to leak. We have had a persistent leak to our extension roof for the last 3 years. Several have tried to repair it and charged varying amounts up to £300 Nothing worked. This was when on a recommendation we turned to Aldridge Roofing. What a breath of fresh air. Plain talking, fairly priced Aldridge Roofing corrected faulty work of those who came before. Rerouting the water into correct sized gully''s, using correct gage lead with bigger overlaps, and persisted until the problem was solved. My advice locally is don''t waste time with some of the other incompetents just call Aldridge Roofing and get it done properly first time, it will save you a lot of time, money and sleepless nights! We were also shown photographs of the existing roof and it''s problems, and again a series of photographs of the work in progress and finished. This was comforting as clearly we were unable to physically get up on the roof ourselves.

Removal and disposal of asbestos soffits, Strip and re roof of bungalow plus roofing a new extension including fitting of 3 velux windows and 1 velux sun tunnel. Patch repairs on garage flat roof. We are very satisfied with the work carried out by Aldridge roofing. Their years of experience really shows through the quality of work carried out. We were up against it with what seemed like 3 months of solid rain but everything was well planned and organised to ensure we didn’t get any water where it shouldn’t be.
Robert and Michael were very friendly and easy to get along with and they were understanding and adaptable when circumstances changed and they had to work around other trades. I would highly recommend them.

Repair to a 2m section of roof and gable. Additional work added to scope which was undertaken to a high standard. Initially our roof started leaking at the beginning of the year. Rob immediately answered our urgent call for a repair. Rob undertook a temporary repair within a couple of hours of us requesting his services. Due to COVID the permanent repair was delayed, but in the subsequent months Rob, at very short notice, provided an additional temporary repair.

Lead up to the repair Rob kept in touch regarding potential start dates. We were pretty flexible, so this worked well for both us and Rob.

Once started, Rob worked very professionally and diligently to undertake the repair against challenging and changing weather conditions. In fact you wouldn’t know that Rob was here due to him just getting on with it. The job was finished within the time estimate, to a very high standard and with no mess. In fact all materials removed from the roof or left over were removed from the property by Rob (even though I had a convenient skip on the drive way.

A great service by a great professional.

Replacement of aged flat roof coverings and fascias. Removed rubbish. Installation of new guaranteed multi-layered roofing materials and fascias and repairs where required to underlying timber including treatment of timber with preservative. Wooden fascias primed and undercoated as requested and I finished off the painting.


Straight forward communication with Mr Aldridge from the outset. Clear advice about work required and professional manner encouraged confidence in the proposed work. There were significant delays to the start of the work and I was told in advance of the problems of acquiring material due the impact of Covid. I was kept informed of delays and likely start dates. Once work was agreed communication with the company was primarily be email and that worked well.

I got on well with Mr Aldridge and his staff and it was a pleasure to have them on site. I will ask them to quote for other roofing work and would also recommend them to other people.

Honest and detailed initial assessment and estimate which, despite the difficulties of supply because of COVID 19 wasn’t increased though I suspect their costs were.
Attention to detail and a ‘perfectionist’ approach in everything they did meant I felt completely assured of excellent workmanship.
Where extra work was required I was shown detailed photographs by way of explanation

Replaced all old wooden Soffits, fascias etc with UPVC together with associated felt/battens. Replaced all gutters and downpipes with UPVC.
Stripped and renovated 6 Gulleys.
Fitted new Velux rooflights, stripped old glass fibre roof covering and replaced. All works carried out in professional and pleasant manner. Initial difficulties due to Covid19 affecting supplies were overcome as work progressed.

The team, Robert, Michael and Ryan worked well together and were a pleasure to have around. Several days were over 30 degrees making work almost impossible, a big gold star from us for working through.

Lead Flashing on a sloping lead roofed bay window. The work was carried out by Robert Aldridge a tradesman who cares about the quality and finish of a job.

I approached the company following a recommendation from a decorator who I was using to repaint the exterior woodwork on my house.

Following my initial conversation with Robert I could tell that he would be suitable for this job as I personally have very high standards and I felt that he shared the same values.

I have had my property extensively refurbished to a very high standard and I will not employ anybody who is not able to meet my expectations.

I will be using this company again as I have some outstanding work which needs carrying out and he took the time to examine and discussed this while he was on site.

To roof a new extension and match into existing roof. To reroof a smaller pitch to the front of the property. Rob is an extremely professional tradesman whose attention to detail is second to none.

One double garage flat roof. Stripped and re felted.

One tiled roof. Existing tiles, felt and batten stripped and disposed of but ridge tiles retained. New treatable battens over breathable felt membrane fitted and new Neo pan tiles laid with the retained ridge tiles reinstalled I''ve used Aldridge roofing many times and I have never had any cause for concern or witnessed any bad practises. They arrive on time, work in a tidy and efficient manner, leaving the site in a clean and tidy state at the end of the day and at the end of the contract.

Cut into existing slate roof and install "vellux" window Aldridge Roofing is a proffesional organisation with a wealth of experience. This is the second occasion I have had reason to use them, and I would not hesitate to use them again or recommend them to others. Given the difficult (covid) times we are living in at the moment their communication all the way through has been excellent.
The site was left clean and tidy inside and out.

The work involved disabling & sealing off the leaking old drainage pipe work from the gully roof which was running horizontally under the roof, installing new down pipe & feeding into existing soak away via additional down pipe.
The original leaking drain pipe work was left open at the outlet to allow any existing water to drain / vaporise over time.
All the groundwork was reinstated leaving it all clean & tidy as original.
The team of 2 arrived before 8.00am & started working immediately, the work was completed by 3.30pm.

To repair leaking roof. Remove tiles, repaired damaged felt, redress existing lead, re-fix tiles and make good. Before Christmas I called Aldridge Roofing in to look into the cause of my leaking roof, having used this company two years earlier I had no problem seeking this company to return and resolve this new emergency.

Mr Aldridge came to the house and provided me with an estimate for the repair and a date when he would be able to carryout the work. On that basis he received the go ahead.

Mr Aldridge arrived on time and after a brief discussion confirming his work programme he attended to the job in hand, two hours later he reported the leak had been successfully repaired and why it had been caused. The work area was left clean and tidy.

I was very please with the service and the professional manner in which Mr Aldridge and his staff completed their work.

Aldridge Roofing carried out repairs to the garage/porch flat roof on my mothers detached property. Having been let down by 3 local roofers, one of which had already carried out work for us on a previous occasion, I contacted Robert Aldridge after a recommendation. Within a few days I had met with him, discussed an appropriate solution to a roof repair, given an estimate and accepted it. Because of the time of year, the weather didn''t allow work to be carried out. We were kept informed as to when Robert and his team were able to start and were duly given a date. While commencing the work, all the staff were on time and very courteous. The work was completed to a very high standard and the site was left immaculate. One point worth mentioning was that we were unable to be on site while the work was being carried out and so had to leave the house keys with the staff. The keys were posted through our door at the end of each day. We will be recommending Robert and his team to family and friends.
