Renew roof, insulation, battens, party wall in loft , replace flat roof on unsightly kitchen extension with pitched slate roof. Clad walls of kitchen with featherboarding, painted ''barn black'' replacing guttering. Leadwork.
Take down dodgy adjacent wall and clean bricks in preparation for bricklayer to rebuild. Very good team of roofers, high quality work, friendly, efficient, punctual and reliable.
Robert Aldridge very good at keeping tight control of proceedings, always able to get tradespeople in when necessary so as not to hold up the work, i.e. the rebuilding of a wall which needed doing but not previously priced.
He was also able to take design initiatives, he has a''good eye.''
They have utterly transformed a very ugly kitchen extension as well as renewing the main roof.

Storm damage to barn roof and summer house We engaged Aldredge Roofing for the repairs to the tiling on our barn roof and to replace the complete shingled roof to our summerhouse due to storm damage. We found them to be be prompt and professional with their inspection of the work required and very experienced. Their workmanship is of high quality and we would not hesitate in recomending them to others. They were both polite and friendly to my husband and I and most of all arrived when they arranged and worked full days

Removed existing tiles, felt and battens. Replaced with new membrane and battens, replaced existing tiles.
cemented verge.
Installed new lead and felt on adjoining flat roof and re-routed guttering. A very quick response to my rather panicked call about a leaking roof. Robert came out, assessed the problem and applied a temporary repair. He then explained how he proposed to effect a permanent repair.
This was done, without fuss a few days later.
I was impressed with the speed of response and the quality of work, as well as a full explanation of the work at all times.
I would have no hesitation in recommending them and using them again.
A first class and very professional job, well done.

Pitched roof repair. Replace a broken tile and patch a small area.
I''ve used Robert in the past to do our flat roof garage, and some more recent repairs to the pitched roof, with this being the most recent.
I''m always happy with Roberts work, backed up with the slick administration from Helen.

We had the roof of our grade II listed farmhouse stripped back, timbers inspected and replaced where necessary and the roof retiled with sympathetic (recycled or matching the original) tiles; All flashings/valleys/gulleys were removed and replaced with lead (some had previously been cement!). The chimneys were also given new lead flashings and were repointed with lime mortar (the repointing was contracted out). All barge boards and gable ends were replaced and painted; all [plastic] guttering and downpipes were replaced with cast-iron ''look'' product more in keeping with the property.
There were some structural issues with a chimney stack that were discovered when the roof was removed; Robert managed this also, bringing in a structural surveyor and arranging the manufacture and installation of a gallows brace to make the chimney safe.
A smaller roof adjoining the main house was also assessed, stripped back and repaired/ flashings replaced where it had been leaking since its installation by another contractor last year.
In view of the extra work that arose subsequent to the original quote I would prefer not to say the price I paid, but I think it has been a fair price for the work done. As with all large projects, there are inevitably unexpected issues that arise during the course of the work; in such circumstance all that I can reasonably ask is to be kept apprised of the situation and have the problems and possible solutions put to me in such a was as to find the best way forward. In this respect, Robert could not have been better, and I was kept fully informed of both progress and problems throughout without feeling I was being patronised or spoken down to.
Despite some staffing problems that were beyond his control (a short-notice resignation and a family bereavement resulting in the effective loss of 2 members of staff at the start of the project) Robert and the remainder of his team continued on, regardless of the weather. They were prompt arriving on-site and starting work, generally before 8am, and were happy to work through to the end of the day(light) and beyond, sometimes working by electric flood lights).
There is a lot of mess and dust generated with the replacement of a roof but the site was left clean and tidy when they left; interim clear ups that I asked for (usually because I had weekend guests visiting) were not a problem.
The work necessitated bringing in my electricians and plumber, in addition to a joiner/carpenter; Robert and his team worked well with each of these, and there was a productive and co-operative atmosphere on the site even with these four teams working together (not always the case, in my experience).
Overall, I was very happy with the standard of the work done and I would particularly commend Robert''s communication skills as he kept me informed of what was happening at all times and remained mindful of the fact that he was working on my house while I was living in it, and not just on an empty building site.

I arranged for Aldridge Roofing to take out existing plasterboard and existing insulation to be taken out of the loft, ready for Rentokil to spray the timbers.
The supply and installation of the loft insulation to 300mm
The service was first class, the guys who came to the property, were very efficient, polite, nothing was too much trouble, they were very careful with the removal of the plasterboard and old insulation. They cleared up after themselves at the end of the job.
I cannot fault the service, the guys again were good workers, polite and were honest, in as much, they were half a roll short, which they mentioned, they didn''t have to, and came back the next day.
I would certainly recommend Aldridge Roofing and have no hesitation of using them again.
I also found the pricing very competitive.

Replacing felt, cementing and lead on a gable roof and fit new wooden scroll feature (not a supporting piece). Robert Aldridge is a very reliable tradesman. He ensures the work is carried out to a correct standard. I would thoroughly recommend his company.
