Mr Robert Aldridge of Aldridge Roofing has completed two jobs for me this year. The first in early March this year was to re-cover my garage roof and workroom which had developed leaks following the snow and heavy frosts. It is under a large flat roof and the workroom contains computers, books etc.

I asked 3 firms for quotations and of the 3, Mr Aldridge was the only person who got up on the roof, carried out measurements, examined both the workroom and garage inside and out, measurements were noted in his workbook and he gave me a rough verbal quote before leaving, with detailed of the intended work.

Neither of the other two people from supposedly reputable firms did this. Within a few days I received a properly set-out quotation with a 3 month validity acceptance note on it. I accepted his quotation. He telephoned to thank me. When he was able to do the work he phoned me again regarding the proposed date he could do the work.

He arrived on time, all debris from the work was cleared away and swept down. I was highly delighted with both his rate of working, the efficiency with which he did the work and the cleanliness of the area afterwards.

I have just had to have a utility roof reroofed and again he has kept in constant contact with me, a really good neat and efficient job carried out and a pleasure to have him working here.

I also received a 15yr certificate of materials used from the manufacturers.

The property concerned is a listed building dating back to the early 1600s. It is a working monastery with over 20 Carmelite nuns in residence and also has a Church open to the public. The very nature of the building means that all works must be completed to a very high standard, we therefore need skilled, conscientious and reliable contractors who can produce the standards we require and do so with minimum disruption to the environment around them. The annual expenditure on roofing issues can vary from £5k to £20k and to date, Aldridge Roofing has always provided us with a high standard of service, workmanship, value for money and professional advice.
