Richard came to mend a small hole in my roof. He did an excellent job. A credit to the Trusted Trader scheme.

I recommend Richard without hesitation. My roof terrace had developed a number of leaks which were not easy to locate. Richard worked systematically and painstakingly to identify and deal with the problems and, I’m happy to say, my roof is now watertight! His leadwork is a work of art and I take visitors to the roof just to admire it! An excellent job, carried efficiently, quickly and neatly.

This is the second time Richard has undertaken work for us. The previous occasion required removing a chimney and other major work on the roof. On both occasions Richard was prompt in his response, gave an accurate quotation, undertook first class work and was a lovely man to work with - polite, informative, amusing in conversation. He was everything you could wish for in a tradesman.

We had our whole roof refined, retired and leadwork done around a dormer, a porch and a chimney. Also had one chimney removed.

We used Richard to have our roof replaced on our bathroom extension, at the back of our property, which had been showing signs of wear and tear, together with dampness.
Richard was quick to respond to our initial approach.
He supplied scaffolding where needed around the lower roof. The work included replacing felt with breathable felt, relay battens with treated battens and replaced some broken tiles. Old lead flashing was replaced and joints were repointed. He also made and fitted a new lead soil pipe and resealed around one window.
Richard was always on time, friendly and courteous. He kept us informed throughout the whole process. He was clean, tidy and when he left each day, any rubbish was taken away.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I had my house re-roofed & Richard did the lead work & also prepared the chimney for pointing repairs. He was very thorough & worked hard to get the job done to an excellent standard. He is very approachable & pleasant and is very experienced in his craft.

First class work. A new lead roof to bow windows and new flashing around chimney. Very neat work and Richard is clearly a very skilled craftsman. Would definitely recommend.

The lead flashing around my chimneystack, where it enters the roof, had deteriorated causing rain water to enter the house. It required replacement. Following a recommendation from my neighbour I contacted Richard Waterfield. On inspection and in doing the work he found several other problems with leadwork and felting in the roof and under the tiles. He quoted me for the further work required and I found the additional cost reasonable. He then completed the extended job.

I mounted the scaffolding to view the work at close hand and, as far as I am able to judge, it was first class and completely to my satisfaction. Richard Waterfield is easy to get on with and clearly very knowledgeable about his craft. I would not hesitate to use him again or to recommend him to any one requiring work in the areas in which Richard is clearly a specialist.

We had a slipped roof tile. Richard responded very quickly to my enquiry, and came out on the same day.
He refitted the slipped tile, and while on the roof also noticed other defects (cracked lead etc) so set about patching these up.
He was friendly, professional, and very knowledgeable. I am very happy with the work, and will certainly be calling Richard again in future for our roof needs, and would highly recommend him.

Everything was first class. Service, quality of work done, speed. It was only a quick repair job to our garage roof but Richard came out the day after I called and did the job within 2 hours. If I could give 6 stars I would!

Came out very promptly and investigated the problem straightaway. No messing about and all very straightforward. A missing roof tile was replaced and repair done to the batten underneath to prevent it happening again. I thought Richard was very straight talking, hard working and skilled and it was a very fair price. Thank you.

I had a leak of rain water due to some damage to roof felt. Richard responded quickly, identified the problem and gave a good quote. He fixed the problem quickly and efficiently. Richard was polite and friendly and the work was of a high standard. I would have no hesitation in recommending him.

My house is 70+ years old and the roof has given me problems off and on during the 35 years I have lived here. I had a recurring leak at the front of the property associated with a disused chimney and two 'valleys' which caused minor but annoying ingress of water over my bedroom. Having heard of good things about Richard I decided to offer him the job.

Richard is a perfectionist. Everything he did was planned in detail, we were kept fully informed throughout. The work appears excellent, well above expectations. Site was left spotless. Time scales were met at each stage. Estimate was spot on. I can think of nothing that was not first class.

Importantly Richard is a lovely man and a pleasure to work with.

various Timber work. The lead firm was recommended by our roofer Peter. We had spent a few days on holiday looking up at donner windows and decided that lead gave the best long term finish. The 3 generation of the same family came and leaded are dormers and completed are vallies. People stop us asking who did the windows and the lead work. We were happy to have a sign up on our harding the window ques has.

To renew lead valley:
Remove existing tiles in valley
Replace old lead with new
Re tile in roof valley
Clear away site. Lead valley leaking.
Assessment made of work included, which was then carried out efficiently.
Richard organised Scaffolding and Tiler. He has a quiet confidence and a "can do" attitude.
