Peter Lowe Property Maintenance

The bathroom on the end of a terraced house was completely redone. The existing suite, wallboards, woodwork and flooring were stripped. Stud work was required as well as insulation and plasterboard for walls. New wall boards, new bath, new hand basin, new toilet, new vanity top, new radiator, new towel heater, new extractor fan and new ceiling and floor with spot lighting. The existing shower was removed and replaced afterwards. The bath was sealed and new handles fitted to the door. Painting was carried out where necessary and flooring laid The two men who came to do the work, Peter and Chris, I felt very comfortable with. The kept me up to date with everything that was going on, when they would start in the morning and cleared everything at the end of each day. The bathroom was damp because of previous leaks and they brought a dehumidifier which completely dried up the bathroom.

If I ever needed more work done in the house I would definitely have the same company back.

Carried out installation of a new kitchen and also refurbishment of a toilet/cloakroom We were left with a problem when a major kitchen supplier reneged on the installation date. As we were working to a tight timescale with other builder work we decided to arrange the fitting ourselves and we contracted Peter Lowe to carry out this work. Peter and his team were very professional and efficient and carried out the work within the agreed timescale and at a reasonable price.

We have since used Peter again to completely refit a toilet cloakroom including the laying of a new floor.

Peter Lowe refurbished our Shower room, it was completely striped out so started from scratch. Once we decided on what we wanted and agreed costs, Peter and his team started the work on time.

They worked extremely well, very friendly and answered any questions we had as the work continued.

Replaced Air Vent Peter was very prompt to sort out what was a minor job. But his ability to complete it quickly and to a high quality was appreciated.

Removed old kitchen, fitted new kitchen, new wood work tops and new flooring. Also revamped old 1970''s staircase, replaced wood with glass.

We had a full kitchen installation (including electrical, plumbing, tiling and grouting). We wanted to change our kitchen and Pete provided an excellent service throughout from initial discussions, recommendations on ways we could potentially save money, instillation and ensuring we were fully happy before leaving... And we’re extremely pleased with it!!

In our experience we couldn’t fault the quality of work or the service provided. Pete and Chris completed all the work while we were away on holiday and we had no issues allowing them access to our property while we weren’t there. There were problems with the kitchen that had been delivered by B&Q (nothing to do with anything they had done), but they just dealt with all of those while we were away without bothering us (we had agreed with Pete before we left that we were happy for him to deal with anything arising, unless it was something expensive then he would call).

We have already recommended Pete to friends and family who want work doing and we would definitely use him again in the future.

The installation of a new kitchen including removing the old one, laying a new floor and the project management of the re-plastering and the electrical and gas works. it was difficult to imagine beforehand just how disruptive a kitchen installation is. Peter kept this to a minimum. A total professional as was Chris his co-worker. The kept the place clean, tidy, clearing up every afternoon at the end of the working day.

the installation work was so good too! Every detail was paid attention to, nothing was too much trouble.

My wife and I would use them again - anytime.

tiled floor. We couldn't have asked for two nicer guys to install our kitchen. Both were always chatty and we also had a good laugh with them. Nothing was too much for them and they did everything we asked
of them. I would highly recommend these guys if you need anything done, big or small, just make sure you have lots of coffee and raspberry ice-cream in your freezer. We will be asking them to do some more work around our house in the new future.

Remove existing in-built bedroom wardrobe and units. Fit new fitted wardrobes. Decorated room including coving. This work was carried out efficiently to a very high standard. Peter Lowe is very pleasant and nice to work with.

Working as B&Q sub-contractor. Work progressed and completed to good standard and updates an completion passed regularly.
All technical issues resolved with minimal fuss.

Carpentry. general building work and project management. Peter Lowe is extremely reliable. professional and works with integrity to both the work and to the client. He has excellent communication skills. He has worked on a mixture of jobs for us. He recently project managed urgent required on a flat we have. He demonstrated skill, knowledge and professionalism in steering the project through to completion. Equally he has planned and completed smaller jobs on our house. He is very trustworthy and takes great pride in his work. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to other people.

Pete has done a variety of jobs for us, over several months and at two properties, including:
- Retiled bathroom shower
- Sanded, retiled and resealed 12m of oak work surface in the kitchen
- Installed cast iron curtain rail using oak supports
- Retiled wet room
- Stripped back to brick and joists bathroom wall and floor, installed bath
- Taken down old ceiling and replaced it
- Repaired guttering, downpipes and soffits
- Replaced door furniture on oak door
- Rerouted kitchen electrics and made good
And cleared up after, removing all rubbish!
Jobs ranged from a few pounds to a couple of hundred We originally asked Pete to undertake some typical handyman jobs, but our satisfaction with his work, character and approach led us to use him as a ''go to'' person for the wide range of jobs described above. His experience and judgement was evident, for example when he uncovered serious problems with the floor joists in a bathroom that needed redecoration or when he devised a neat way around leakage problems which had been caused by someone else''s faulty tiling in a wet room, but he never talks down to you or takes things for granted. He is a good predictor of likely costs, and the uncertainties that come from dealing with very old houses, is absolutely trustworthy and good company, and is a pleasure to deal with.

Fitted a new bathroom. The work was expertly organised with different trades arriving on the days that were in the schedule. They were all very friendly and were willing to answer any questions put to them. The work was carried out to a very high standard and where there were choices the different options were explained. I was taken to various suppliers before hand so that I could pick the fittings that I wanted. It is not always easy to pick from a catalogue but much easier when you see the real thing in a showroom. At the end of the work they cleaned and tidied up not only the bathroom but also the route to the front door all of which had been covered throughout the work period. I will be using them again to do further work.
