I needed an electrician for an urgent call out because all of my plug sockets were tripping and I was at the end of my tether after spending hours turning things off and on to try and narrow down the issue.
I rang David having seen him recommended regularly (by numerous people) on Facebook. He offered advice on the initial call and suggested a video call to see if he could identify the scale of the issue then and there to stop me paying for him to visit if it wasn’t needed . Sadly we couldn’t work out the problem that way. David was here within a couple of hours, straight after he finished the previous job.
He was professional, really knowledgeable, methodical, thorough, and tidy. He identified the problem quickly via a process of elimination and explained the issue in an understandable way. David’s price was more than fair, especially since he went above and beyond to help, and it was an out of hours call out on a Friday evening.
It’s obvious this isn’t just a business for him. He genuinely cares about his customers and giving them best service and trustworthy advice.
He will be the 1st person I’ll call for electrical work in the future. Would give more than 5* if I could.

David came and fitted a new fused board for me today.
The whole process from contacting him to do the job, to finishing it has been fantastic.
He has gone above and beyond even speaking to my heatsource engineer to see if he could needed to add anything to the board for him.
I have already booked him in for my next job!

Excellent service. Prompt, professional, good value. Came back next day to fix a problem that wasn't apparent when the work was finished (installed new cooker extractor hood, new LED kitchen light units and a wireless immersion tank controller). Would definitely use again and recommend. It's a refreshing change to find someone taking this much pride in their work.

I can’t thank David enough for his incredible help. We had an emergency when our box burnt out, and David stepped up to help—even though it was his weekend off! Before coming out, he actually FaceTimed us to see if it was a quick fix he could guide us through to save us time and money, which shows just how honest and customer-focused he is. When it turned out to require an in-person fix, he came straight out and resolved the issue safely and quickly. Going above and beyond like that on a day off is rare these days. Highly recommended!

Had David replace my switch board last week. I've had great communication from him, quick replies and answered all my questions, arrived dead on time and I found him to be very reliable. The price was really reasonable and the work and materials used were to a high standard, was very knowledgeable, explained everything thoroughly and regulary asked if I had any questions during all stages of the installation. I felt confident that everything was all by the book with no short cuts being taken! Also genuinely a really nice and approachable person, would highly recommend David to anyone and will definitely be using David again for future electrical works!

David came and fitted my EV charger on Tuesday, and did an absolutely fantastic job. I contacted him the Tuesday prior, as I’d bought an ev on a bit of a whim, he gave me solid advice about which charger to go for and managed to fit me in the day I picked my car up! You can tell David takes so much pride and care in his work, I would highly recommend him for any ev charger work, but will also be using him in the future for any other electric work I may need. Our shower broke down on a Saturday, and although we explained and begged, our breakdown service British Gas would only offer an engineer in 5 days.
I resorted to calling local traders fo help, and the only perso to respond was David, who although unable to attend immediately, he gave us enough advice and information to get us through until he came to our rescue. He was cheery and efficient and soon had us sorted.

David fitted a light and switch in the loft. Very impressed with his professionalism and quality workmanship. He was quick, efficient and left the area clean and tidy. He ensured he checked all details before he started and gave me the opportunity to ask questions. I love the new light in my loft and will be using this company again as I was so impressed.

100% recommend D Carter. 100 percent trustworthy guy and great at what he does. He turned up exactly when he said he would and even went through different options with me to help keep the cost down, rather than just trying to charge as much as possible. Everything was done properly and exactly as agreed. Really happy with the work and wouldn’t hesitate to use him again. 👍

I'd been previously let down by an electrician and was getting quite stressed trying to find one for some pretty urgent work that I could actually trust to turn up and do it. Dave to the rescue! He came to see what needed doing and sort a quote, knew it wasn't going to be easy and didn't sugar coat it but also didn't try and scare me. Agreed a date, turned up on time, work was done swiftly and didn't leave a mess. Will be getting back to do more work.

I was seeking to upgrade my household electrics to facilitate a future install of an electric vehicle charging point and install air conditioning.
Within 24 hours of contacting D.Carter Electrical Ltd a survey visit was arranged to take a look and discuss my requirements. I was sure I would need a new consumer unit as my current one was totally full and over 25 years old. The survey went well and I felt at ease with the assessment. David is very polite, likeable and speaks plainly.
The works agreed was to install a new (Crabtree) consumer unit and 2 fused spurs to supply air conditioning.
On the day of the works David arrived punctual and commenced work straight away. He had to adjust my cabinet which houses the consumer unit, this was neatly done. He worked very neatly and carried out the works as agreed. Whilst installing the new consumer unit a fault was identified on my lighting circuit, he swiftly identified the problem and then provided a solution, rectifying the fault.
The fused spurs were installed on the outside of the property, and David drilled through my walls accurately and with no mess or damage.
David completed all certification and notifications required.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience from start to finish, very thorough, exceptionally tidy and I would not hesitate to use D.Carter Electrical Ltd in the future

We recently had several electrical jobs completed at my parents’ bungalow, including installing a garden floodlight, loft light, garage light, outdoor socket, garage double socket, a new wired smoke alarm, and putting up a light fitting.
From start to finish, the service was excellent. Everything was completed to a very high standard, with great attention to detail, and the work was left clean and tidy. He was punctual, friendly, professional, and took the time to explain everything clearly.
The pricing was fair for the amount of work carried out, and we wouldn’t hesitate to use him again for any future electrical work. We highly recommend him to anyone looking for a reliable and trustworthy electrician.
Thank you for doing such a fantastic job!

I found out to my cost that there are some less than reliable electricans around. Dave definetly isn't one of them. Everything was done to a high standard to the price he quoted with excellent communication all round. I would recommend D Carter electrical to anyone and i will definetly use Dave again for any future works.

Can't fault David. He came round later the same day as phoned, did four different jobs (inc. removing old electric shower and fixing a retro light fitting) within the hour and even came back two days later to sort something else. All for a reasonable price too. Highly recommend.
