Case Study - BBH Limited Home Improvements
Tuesday 23 June 2026Taking the hard sell out of home improvements
BBH Limited Home Improvements is a Trading Standards Approved Norfolk Trusted Trader, a Norwich based firm supplying and installing aluminium and PVC-U windows, doors and conservatories for homeowners right across the county.
Ask most people what they expect when they let a window company into their home and you tend to hear the same things: the pushy salesperson, the price that mysteriously halves if you sign today, the staged phone call to head office for a special deal that was always there for the taking. Our industry has earned that reputation, and it is one we have spent more than 30 years working against. We started BBH to do the job a different way, with honest advice, fair pricing and quality products, and then to let the work speak for itself.
We are determined to make homes better places to live. Using superb quality components, modern production techniques and skilled, experienced fitters, we deliver what homeowners actually want: secure, weatherproof and stylish homes that are energy efficient and easy to look after. We supply both homeowners and the trade, with a full range of windows, doors, conservatories, roofline and guttering to suit any property and any size of project, from a single replacement window to a complete glazed extension. We are also members of the Glass and Glazing Federation, the recognised body for our trade. From our earliest days, our growth has come from one place: recommendations from satisfied customers.
Why we joined Norfolk Trusted Trader
Joining the scheme in 2020 was an easy decision. We wanted to be recognised and associated with a trusted, independent platform that homeowners could turn to when choosing a company to put their faith in. In a trade where it can be hard to tell the genuine firms from the rest, being vetted and approved by Trading Standards gives people a clear, reliable signal that we are who we say we are.The vetting process itself was straightforward, and the checks involved were reassuring rather than off putting. They are exactly what gives the scheme its value, because they prove that any company associated with Norfolk Trusted Trader is genuine, credible and professional. We would not want it any other way.
What membership has meant
Membership has done just what we hoped. New customers regularly tell us they feel reassured before we have even met, because they can look back through years of genuine feedback and see how previous jobs have gone. We also receive enquiries directly through the Norfolk Trusted Trader website, which is a welcome sign that the scheme is valued by the public and working exactly as it should. Our customers tend to comment on the same handful of things, and they happen to be the things we care most about: a quote with no pressure attached, fitters who are polite and respectful in the home, and everything left clean and tidy at the end of each day. Plenty of homeowners have taken the time to leave us a review on our Norfolk Trusted Trader profile over the years, and that steady, honest record means far more to us than any sales pitch ever could.
Spreading the word
We are proud to fly the Norfolk Trusted Trader flag. The logo is a permanent feature on our vehicles, our stationery and our website, and with every installation we hand the customer a review form so they can give honest feedback on their experience. It all helps people know, before they ever pick up the phone, that they are dealing with a Trading Standards Approved business. On the rare occasions we have needed to contact the Trusted Trader team, usually to ask for more review envelopes, they have always been helpful and quick to respond.“Membership has been a major boost for our business, with increased leads and secured work.”
Looking ahead
More than three decades in, what drives us has not changed. We want to keep making Norfolk homes warmer, safer and more comfortable, and to keep proving that buying new windows, doors or a conservatory does not have to mean enduring the hard sell. Being a Norfolk Trusted Trader sits naturally alongside that, because it reflects the values BBH was built on: honesty, quality and treating people the way we would want to be treated in our own homes.Leon Raby
