Maltby came highly recommended and they have lived up to that recommendation. They are experts in lime plasterwork and I cannot fault the work they have done for me. They are very knowledgeable and also very pleasant to deal with.

The first time using Maltby Plastering but would definitely use again if the need arose and would recommend without qualms to others.

The team had a difficult task with our windmill-But they were very professional and were able to solve any issue and discussed them with us along the way. Lime plastering of a two bedroom terraced house that needed complete renovation. I contacted Bruce Maltby a few years ago to discuss putting the house back to the way it should be with lime plaster and the outside to be re-pointed with lime because at some point in the past modern plaster and cement pointing had been used resulting in damp issues and deterioration of the fabric of the house, particularly the ground floor. The house was in a poor state. It took quite a while to get planning to put a bathroom upstairs and extend the kitchen, then waiting until the extension was done. I kept in touch with Bruce throughout the whole process as I wanted Maltby Plastering to do the work and he needed to know how the build was progressing in order to book the team in to do the lime plastering. Bruce and Luke have not only done an amazing job but helped out when a major problem cropped up. I can''t recommend them highly enough. The whole team have a fantastic work ethic with very high standards.

Remove existing damaged plaster ceiling. Repair and re batten. New lime plaster finish. Also plaster adjacent well. Bruce and his team are highly skilled, knowledgeable and hard working. Our house in 16th century in origin and Maltby will be involved in future work as we repair the interior and exterior.
I would definitely recommend using Maltby plastering.

Lime plastering to an historic attic storey of a 16th / 17th century timber house, including installation of entirely new lath work to walls and ceilings. Plastering of internal walls in 2 rooms. Lime plaster over clay lump. New ceilings to bathrooms. We were very pleased and delighted with the work. We appreciated Bruce’s extensive knowledge of traditional materials. We valued his ideas and suggestions and will be asking him to undertake further work later in the year. Although specialist plaster work is more expensive we feel Maltby’s is value for money.

Re-lathe and traditional home plastering of C17 stairwell. Bruce and his team were a joy – carefully and with great expertise bringing the oldest part of our house back to life. Their skill is second to none and we would tenderheartedly recommend them. We learnt so much!
