We had a section of lawn replaced and are very pleased with the result so pleased we are considering having some more done.

We had our back garden redesigned and re-turfed. We were very pleased with the service from quotation through to completion. All the workmen were polite and considerate. James checked in at regular intervals and on completion to ensure the work met our expectations. I would have no hesitation in recommending them.

James Steven – Landscapes and Lawns carried out a complete lawn renovation for me. James visited beforehand to survey and discuss the details; he was knowledgeable, honest, and very accommodating. Quote and start date were clear and stuck to.

Reed and Finlay completed the work: full turf removal, rotavating, mole mesh installation, border cutting/edging, and re‑turfing. Both were friendly, professional, and worked with real care.

The workmanship is excellent and the lawn looks superb. I would happily use them again and highly recommend their services.

Used digger to remove existing lawn a tree, roots and rubble from a front lawn. Levelled, added top soil and compost ready for a good quality turf. Turf laid perfectly and looks superb. Well pleased

James Steven Landscapes renewed a reasonably large garden lawn which had previously been damaged / dug by pets leaving in in very poor condition. The existing lawn was removed, some drainage installed where water always stood. The ground was prepared well and rotovated, levelled prior to new lawn turf rolls being laid.

The lads that carried out the work were polite, hard working and professional and i would have them back for other works as and when needed.

James and his team put up a 6 foot wooden fence along the bottom of my garden. This is the third project they have completed for me. They are extremely professional, friendly and highly efficient in their work and I can’t recommend them highly enough! Thank you very much.

An excellent transformation of our front lawn, from a mossy, weed infested patch of nothing, to a glorious luscious green lawn. James and his team worked tirelessly for a full day to achieve it.

Excellent experience from start to finish. James was quick to schedule the initial visit, understood what we were trying to achieve and promised us a perfect outcome. He provided a quote that we were able to agree there and then.

A few weeks later and the work was undertaken over the course of a few days: removing the old turf, rotovating the soil, adding new topsoil & fertiliser before levelling everything and laying fresh, lush turf. The whole site was treated with respect and care was taken to ensure everything was clean & tidy at the end. Plus, he left a lawn care leaflet, so we know what to do to keep the new lawn healthy.

The end result is even better than we hoped – perfect in fact, just as James promised. We couldn’t be more thrilled with the outcome. Highly recommended.

New lawn laid and fencing. The lawn now looks wonderful. James knows what he is doing and is polite and attentive to client requirements. We had concrete posts with concrete gravel boards, tanilized wooden panels. All completed in a timely fashion and to a professional standard. James completely transformed both my back and front gardens, and the results exceeded my expectations. My back lawn was full of weeds and moss, but after returfing it now looks incredible — so much so that a neighbour asked if it was artificial grass because it stayed so lush and green even two weeks after being laid.

I was so impressed with the speed, quality of work, and professionalism that I asked James to redesign my front garden as well. This involved removing steep steps, creating a sloped entrance, levelling the garden, building a raised sleeper bed, adding a stone bed in a shaded area, and completing a full returf.

James really listened to my ideas and offered great suggestions to create a clean, low-maintenance design. I’m extremely happy with the finished result and highly recommend him.

Recently had an old large lawned area removed and returfed together with the border planted with 60 laurel plants to form a hedge. James carried out this work in an excellent manner, clean tidy and very professional. From the day I asked for a quotation, everything James said would happen, did happen, in budget and timescale. I was extremely pleased with the quality of the turf and plants but more so my James, a very hard working professional who takes great pride in his work. I would recommend him without hesitation to anyone requiring a new lawn.

James excavated a large area to enlarge our patio and prepared the ground and laid new turf on the lawn. He and Finley were both very hard working! James kept us informed throughout the process and made sure we were happy with progress. We have already discussed more work to be undertaken in 2026.

They removed all the old turf, rotivated, firmed and levelled the ground with around 9 tonnes of extra topsoil before laying the new turf perfectly. We are absolutely delighted with the work James and Sean have completed for us.
They had a tricky retaining wall to build, then, just inside that, they erected a superb fence with a wooden gate, matching the work they completed previously.
The standard of workmanship could not be higher and we appreciated their attention to detail, including tidying up after each day’s work.
We have already discussed our next project with James, but have to wait until next year because he is SO busy due to his superlative work.
We can’t praise James highly enough.

I could not recommend James enough.
He came over to meet with me to discuss what I had wanted to get done. He happily discussed everything with me, what I was hoping to get and made some suggestions.
Then, due to the horrendous downpours, we had to postpone; however, when the weather got better, he kindly rearranged.
When he came, him and his assistant worked tirelessly, true grafters.
The quality of work James provided is top notch. You will go far to find somebody who grafts as much as he does.
