The latter, a very complicated job which has been done well.

James rebuilt and re-leaded 2 leaking roof valleys and a partial ridge rebuild to a high standard.

Our experience with Eastern Roofing and Solar Installation was nothing short of excellent. They carried out the work to our new roof and guttering to the highest standards and were a pleasure to deal with throughout. Thoroughly recommend them and would use them again with hesitation. I would say they are the best building contractor we have ever used.

I had my roof re-felted and the work was done efficiently and quickly. They also put lagging in my loft which was in dire need. Altogether very friendly and helpful.

Complete replacement of our roof, guttering and painting of woodwork. Eastern Roofing and Solar Installation Ltd did a superb job, from initial advice to completion - their attention to detail is second to none and Jim, Jonny and Ben are very conscientious, hard working and could not have been more helpful - they answered any questions and were very reassuring, as this was a large financial commitment. On completion of the work they all have done an outstanding job and we highly recommend them.

Had complete roof strip timbers repaired extra insulation new membrane and tiles.Also retrimmed the roof lights and new lead flashing...excellent attention to detail and finish .The roofers were very helpful and easy to deal with..would highly recommend.

Eastern Roofing replaced the original slate roof on our Victorian school house and also fitted a new slate roof to our extension which was a perfect match with the original house. The work was the highest quality and to the agreed timescale and budget. Courteous and professional communication throughout and left the site clean and tidy. Would highly recommend.

Reroofing of an 1850's house. The quote was detailed and easy to understand. The scaffolders used were flexible around the lean to garage for access.

The work was great and Jim took time to walk me round the walkway to check out the work as it progressed. Gave options on replacement ridge tiles and also did some painting for me while up there.

Solar panels washed and replaced and reconnected with no fuss and then officially recommissioned by subcontracted electrician

Our whole house was reroofed by Jim and his team. The care and attention they put into saving the original pin tiles, repairing woodwork, felting and then retiling was amazing. They took a lot of time ensuring the details were right so the job both fixed the leaks, worked structurally and was aesthetically as beautiful as possible. This included sourcing reclaimed tiles to match. Real quality craftsmanship. Great communication throughout both on decisions and timelines. Always polite and tidy, wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

This was a clean up following storm damage. The insurance company were being rubbish and very slow. James made us watertight then sorted everything from the roofing to the solar panels. He even went the extra mile to sort the interior, provide bird netting to get the job sorted properly.
James was unbelievably patient because we were dealing with insurance etc, sending multiple quotes to meet their needs.. I would happily use him again but hope I don't have to... 😀

We required a new roof as the old one was leaking and had numerous other issues. We had quotes from several companies but each time the same problem arose in that they were not experienced in removing and refitting our solar panels. It also proved difficult to find a seperate company to deal with the panels most only want to fit new panels. Then a solar company recomended trying Eastern Roofing and life became simple. Jim came promptly and discussed the work the roof required, he was able to deal with removing and refitting the panels no problem and getting the electrician to reinstate and check the system. Our property is on a neighbours boundary so we needed to coordinate access with our neighbour and he was respectful of the need to work with this in mind.
The quote was very detailed including all that is considered best practice. I cannot praise the team enough who worked on our roof they were quiet, efficent, very tidy and completed the work in very good time leaving everything clear and clean. We have a very old property and any problems that arose or were identified as the work was done were easily dealt with after discussion.
I cannot recomend this company highly enough.

Replaced a single storey tiled pitched roof and repaired a leak where the roof joined another part of the building (which 2 other firms had unsuccessfully tried to remedy). Eastern roofing were friendly and easy to deal with. They did a very good job sorting out a difficult to deal with leak and replacing a roof. They worked tidily and stuck to the quoted price, I would have no hesitation in using them again in the future.

Reroofing clay pantile roof. Removing and replacing solar panels I was very pleased with the quality of work. The roofers worked consistently hard in very cold weather. They were cheerful throughout and explained what was happening. They made every effort to ensure replacement tiles were appropriate.
Although Eastern Roofing was the most expensive, they had experience of working with solar panels that had previously been fitted, and this was one of my reasons for selection. They did find a significant fault with the fitting of the panels which they corrected Another was that they carried out a more detailed examination of the roof prior to giving a quotation.
Whereas the roofers were clean and tidy, unfortunately the scaffolders did leave the area muddy and utidy.
I have no hesitation in recommending Eastern Roofing in fact I have already done so

Roofing Work Very pleased with the work.

I live in a terrace house where the roof over the spare bedroom has a valley with the main roof. A leak had developed in the spare room and also one in the loft area. Out of the four firms I called, Jim was the only one to actually get on the roof and look around to find the root cause. His first call-out, he moved some tiles around (for free, no call out charge) and asked me to let him know if the leak continued (as it was only in bad weather).

When it did, Jim did a thorough inspection (he was on the roof a long time, shifting tiles around etc) and showed me photos of the damage and his assessment on the problem.

I had three other firms, all of whom did no inspection themselves and quoted much higher than Jim. Jim also provide two quotes, one for the back roof (including the back bedroom) and another for full roof.

Work commenced a few days after I accepted the Quote (which was actually about 1.5 years after he first gave it, I was saving up for my wedding, same price as originally quote which was great). The scaffolders and then, the roofers, all turned up quickly and early each day. I was kept informed of all work taking place.

From the texts from Jim, my own inspections and some talks with my builder friends, I understand that Jim went over and above to make the roof water-tight. Rebuilding of parts of the Gable Wall, a Bonding Gutter so the gauge on the front-roof could be changed to increase the headlap, adding valley boards (which the previous builder had clearly forgotten).

The work was carried out in a professional manner and to a clearly, high level of detail and care. I usually get misgivings when using tradesmen (years of watching watchog makes you worried!) but wouldn''t hesitate to recommend Jim and the team again.

This, coupled with a Ten Year written guarantee which will be a nice touch when/if I sell the house before expiry.

Repair leaking area in roof = strip our valley, clean down roof void areas, replace felt, make timber repairs as Nec., retile and add back bed of mortar, cut tiles to fit (on 2 valleys) and supply extra tiles and bird-comb. Company recommended to us - excellent work by very pleasant and hardworking men (2) - from 10-30 to 7pm!

New slate and flat roof Very professional and friendly service and the roof looks great.

Remove and replace house front cable end / left cable end barge boards, fascia and soffits plus end rafters. Replace all is trip back 3 rows of tiles, remove and replace roller and location. Fit new barge & applying bands, prime undercoat and glass paint as necessary. Repair lead valley. Impeccable work and old fashioned service and virtues from modern go-ahead firm.

Of all the firms who came to quote, Tim the owner of Eastern Roofing made an immediate impression as a man of honesty integrity. Not only did he quote the best price, but while doing his evaluation, some missing tiles on my barn (outbuilding) roof that had been blown off by the major wind/storm Feb 2014. He immediately clambered onto the roof and replaced them, to avert rain entering the building! Speaks volumes.

His team were exemplary. As pensioner. I was treated with reverence.

Roofing repairs

Replace old felt with breathable felt. Replace some beams, treat all beams with anti- fungus stuff, lay loft insulation. Skip and scaffold included in cost. I was worried about finding good people to repair the roof. I went to the trusted trader link. I hadn''t used the firm before but I''m very glad I chose eastern roofing. A family company who have a very supportive attitude. UK Power had to sheath a cable by my roof and eastern roofing organised that; and the scaffolding and skip. I only ever spoke to Eastern roofing; they did everything else. I was kept up to date with all the stages of the preparation prior to the work starting. On site, the men were quiet, industrious and got on with the work. I wholly recommend this company for their friendly attitude and professionalism. The price included VAT.

Rebuilding chimneys, rebuilding ridge, installation of 2 Velux windows, pointing. A friendly and hard working team. We added to the "brief" during the works and Jim accomodated us with no problems. Indeed, he offered to help with other bits and peices whilst he was on site.
At no point was I concerned about leaving him and his team alone, nor about the quality of the work.
I have used many builders and craftsmen over the years, and Jim is one of the most helpful and responsibly I have come across.
I would recommend him to anyone.

Attend property and re-bed ridge tile as per quotation ref. 2013/0305. Very pleased with work carried out. Nice, friendly people.

Replacement of soffits a large boards. The workmen were punctual and polite. They worked efficiently and there were no hold ups. There were no disruption and they cleared everything up on completion of the work.

Roof removal and replacement Very helpful and considerate - highly recommended

Refelting with new batons and new tiles, spraying of exposed timbers against worm and rot. Score on "Tidy" lower due to minor problems of timely removal of skip and scaffolding which we realise was outside of the control of Eastern Roofing but was the subcontractors problem. The work did start one day late but we were happy about this as it enabled the job to be completed in a rain free period. Other than those minor considerations we were very pleased with the with the standard of the work and all other aspects. We have not used this firm before but would be very happy to do so again.

Reroofing house. Very pleased with the workmenship and attitude of all the workmen involved and nothing was too much trouble.

Repair damaged tiling in a porch roof. He not only fixed the damaged tile but also identified a potential problem with the flashing. He repaired the tiles and replaced the flushing and charged a very reasonable price. Very satisfied.

Loft sparked with woodwork treatment. Felt, battens & tiles replaced on whole roof. UPVC soffit boards renewed. We are delighted with our new roof. It is just what we ordered. Jim & his team are all hard working, in all weathers, efficient & tidy. Jim explained what he did each day and willingly answered any questions we had to do with the work.
