Carl Wigg took my car in at very short notice and carried out the work of replacing the front brake discs and pads. Also spotted one lock nut was missing which they replaced. Completed work very quickly - excellent service.

What a great family run business this has proven to be! As somebody who knows cars, I have never completely trusted garages, so I do not say that lightly.
They replaced my gearbox and clutch and it drives beautifully once again. A superb job and came in under the estimate too!

After having some advisories on my MOT, I took my VW Polo to Carl Wigg to have an inspection. April, Carl and the team explained the work that needed doing, the price and what parts may need replacing in the future. Extensive repairs carried out on a 'new to me', second hand vehicle purchased from a dealer after my car was involved in a hit and run incident whilst parked up overnight which resulted in it being deemed not economically viable to repair.
For peace of mind, I took my newly purchased car to be checked over by my local mechanic who advised the car was not roadworthy, the main issues being brakes that were so badly worn all round, it would not pass an MOT and a significant oil leak.
Upon approaching the dealer I bought the car from about this I was informed I would have to submit a full diagnostic report (something confirmed by the Citizen's Advice Bureau in relation to the Consumer Rights Act 2015, as I had initially requested a full refund).
Having not been in this situation before, I googled for local diagnostic garages and came across Carl Wigg Autoservices and spoke with April Wigg.
April was extremely concerned when I relayed my story, and she discovered the car had had advisories for the brakes for the previous two MOTs! I was genuinely outraged that the other, large company could be selling vehicles that are not roadworthy. Furthermore, this was not the first time she had encountered this situation involving the other dealer and so she offered to take this upon herself to try to sort for me as she had a contact whom she could approach.
I was so appreciative, it was such a relief to have someone who I could discuss these issues with, and who listened. Furthermore, April acknowledged the injustice that I was experiencing and genuinely wanted to help.
April liaised with the other dealer and organised for them to undertake the extensive repairs, without me having to get involved which was a massive relief for me. Despite being fully booked up, the whole team at Carl Wigg Autoservices ensured my repairs were swiftly dealt with to ease further inconvenience.
Carl Wigg Auto Services deserve 6/5 in all aspects of your rating system. Completely professional, approachable, considerate and extremely trustworthy. I shall be recommending them to everyone and will be using them from now on. CarlWigg Autoservices has gone above and beyond hehlping me with my car i bought faulty from a dealership, From initial contact they have offered great advice on dealing with not only the fault with the car, but the dealer i bought the car from.

My fight with the original dealer continues now even 6 months after the purchase, my last visit to CarlWigg i booked in for diagnostics for further evidence to my claim of the same fault reocurring, not only did they not accept any payment for this they also wrote me a report stating the fault is the same as they saw 4 months ago to help strenghten my case.

I have always had trust issues with garages and mechanics, i have been lied to in the past, overcharged, and dealt with generally uninterested so called proffesionals. CarlWigg is everything a local business should be, and will have my custom for years to come.

They replaced the drive shafts and put a new tyre (plus wheel alignment) on my Volvo V40. They worked hard to source the parts promptly and updated me regularly on progress. With the wheel alignment, I received a diagnostic report before and after the work was done. My car now drives like a dream. They were very friendly, helpful and worked quickly to get my car back on the road.
