1-2-1 Training
Our comprehensive training covers a wide range of issues, from basic to advanced training, nutrition, separation anxiety, reactivity, recall, loose-lead walking, over-arousal, hyperactivity, resource guarding, introducing a new dog, multi-dog households, barking, and other unwanted behaviors. You can rest assured that we have the expertise to address your specific needs.
Our team, equipped with a wealth of knowledge and experience, has attended numerous seminars, webinars, and completed courses on a variety of issues. Leanne, our lead trainer, holds a Canine Training Behavior Diploma and is a Senior Instructor for Dog Training College. Recognizing that every dog and owner is unique, we begin with a comprehensive discussion in the first session to understand the specific issues you want to address. We then craft a personalized plan to suit you and your dog, providing immediate techniques to aid your progress. You will also receive a follow-up email summarizing our discussion.
Follow-up sessions will involve discussing how things are going, what is working and what isn’t, how we can make more progress and what we can do moving forward. Locations can vary depending on the issue and increase the difficulty level as your dog improves. We will summarize and agree on our action plan at the end of these sessions. You will be shown techniques to help you and your dog from the first session to the last. You have email support throughout and can be assured that we will use force-free methods that are the most up-to-date, science-based training. We don’t just work with the dog, we work with the owner too. If there is more than one person in the household, we will all work together whenever possible.
A free 10-minute telephone conversation can be conducted with Leanne before your first session if requested. Sessions last up to 2 hours long depending on how much we need to cover. Discounts are given for multiple sessions booked and paid for together.
1-2-1 Puppy Course
Our 1-2-1 puppy courses offer a comprehensive curriculum that surpasses traditional puppy classes. This personalized approach allows us to adapt the course to your and your puppy's needs, ensuring a more effective learning experience.
This is a 5-week course that is in the comfort of your own home. Each lesson is 1 hour long and can involve the whole family.
We will cover clicker training, basic commands, recall, loose-lead walking, nutrition, basic first aid, play/puppy biting, jumping up, toileting, socialization, desensitization, enrichment, harnesses, collars, and so much more. In each lesson, you will also have the chance to ask any questions that you wouldn’t have the chance to ask in a class environment.
Advanced Classes
Are you looking for onward training for your dog? Has your dog perfected the basics? Do you now want your dog to perfect training under distraction? Then advanced training classes are for you!
This is a 6-week course covering distraction, focus, distance commands, trick training, calm and much more. Building on the basic training your dog already knows we will be adding more to your toolbox. Helping you in everyday life as well as preparing your dog for those unexpected situations.
All lessons cover positive training methods; therefore, food will be used. There is a maximum of 6 spaces in every class, meaning spaces sell out quickly.

I have been attending classes with the Ipswich dog trainer since last march. Leanne and her amazing staff have helped me so much in teaching me to train my Labrador Derek. Firstly we attended puppy classes which helped us with the basic training, we then went on to do focus training with xanita which helped our boy with loose lead walking, focus and recall. I have since taken Derek on socialisation walks which have been great for us both! Iv done 2 workshops myself (reactive rascals and understanding canine body language) and plan to do more in the future. I don't know where we would be without the skills we have both learnt from Leanne and xanita. Thank you both so much

We have a 5 year old cockerpoo that was very reactive with bigger dogs. Leanne has given us the skills to be able to control the reactivity and look for signs when our dog is feeling uncomfortable and how we can correct it. Leanne followed up every session with an email so we can refer back to it at anytime. We are now in a position where we enjoy long dog walks knowing how to control situations and making sure our dog has the best time.

We first found Leanne when we got another rescue spaniel and we booked ten 1:1 sessions, booked onto the Ipswich Dog Trainer socialisation walks, and I enrolled in training workshops around understanding canine behaviour, canine first aid, and reactivity.
From the very beginning, Leanne was amazing. She understood Leo and came up with effective ways to manage his behaviour so that we could then add training so the he could control his emotional responses. She also provided huge support to me as I was struggling with introducing a third dog into our home.
Unfortunately, after eleven month, we lost our little man unexpectedly. The whole time Leanne and her team were there to provide advice and support. We still attend her socialisation walks with our older dogs, eighteen months after we first got in touch with the Ipswich Dog Trainer.
I would wholeheartedly recommend Leanne and the rest of her team to anyone struggling with behaviour issues, or someone simply looking to give their dog the best advantage in terms of their education. The force-free, scientifically proven method employed by the team works in the kindest way possible.
We'll never go anywhere else with any of our dogs, current or future.

I have worked with Leanne and her team for two years and we have made such great progress. My rescue Staffie x arrived with lots of issues and gradually Leanne has given us both confidence and skills as well
as nudging us gently to expand our world. Leanne has such a depth and breadth of skills and knowledge, as well as offering all sorts of different services. Leanne has worked with my cockapoo Ellie since she was a puppy, we completed puppy training 1,2 1, also recall, loose lead walking, Emergency stop, focus and introduction to UK Sniffer training upgraded to bronze then silver. I have also coverd canine body language and first aid for dogs.
I am a qualified now retired senior training assessor (NVQ level 5) and I have found Leanne and her team to be very professional and understanding the dogs and humans needs.
She and her team are friendly and hard working. All training is reward based and they work to build up you and your dogs skills so you both become competent and best freinds. I therefor fully recommend the Ipswich dog trainer.
