Had an issue on our un-vented system, HGS managed to get an engineer out quickly who resolved the issue, engineer was polite and helpful.

HGS investigated a fault with my boiler and replaced two pairs of bathroom taps. They had been recommended to me by a friend who used them when they had their boiler replaced. I needed a new stoptap aswell as a boiler service. Rob in the office advised me on a couple of issues to ensure the stoptap could be fitted where it was easiest to access. The job was booked easily, the man arrived at the time arranged. He was polite, tidy and cleaned up thoroughly after the 2 jobs were done. He even apologised that there would be some noise, as some pipes needed cutting.

Just to say how impressed we were with James and the quality of his work. He was polite and helpful throughout the day, always ready to answer our questions and explain things. At no stage did he appear to be rushing the work to finish and get away, despite being here from just after 8am to just before 6pm. The heating is working better now.

I've used HGS for a couple of years now and they have always been excellent. You ring up and the phone gets answered by someone who knows what they're talking about. They come out quickly, their engineers are polite and skilful and they're happy to explain things thoroughly.

Exceptional service from start to finish. I am In the process of selling my property and required a boiler service as soon as possible. A great company. HGS found a gas fire for my father (98) who relies on the fire for warmth in his main room. They stuck with it through technical and supply issues and managed to get it installed before Christmas and have made a big difference to his life. All of the people (Rob and his staff) have been incredibly helpful and proficient throughout, and I recommend them without qualification.

Upon initial contact Rob was amazingly friendly and calm. He managed to get me booked in on the coldest day of the year. Matt attended and completed the work, again extremely professional and reassuring. Great value and good, honest service. Thanks you both, would highly recommend.

Drained down the heating system,replaced eight TRV's on our heating system, two service valves, refilled the system adding inhibitor and fitted a new kitchen tap (supplied by me).

The heating engineer was very polite, laid sheets down on our stair carpet, I really couldn't fault him or his workmanship.

Replacement of unreliable faulty multi-point water heater with Baxi 25kw combi- boiler Rob at HGS came to my rescue when my multipoint water heater broke down in my property in North Walsham that was let out.
He explained my options clearly and recommended I installed a Baxi Combi Boiler which would be reliable , easy to maintain and give the option of central heating in the future. However this was not an easy task for him as there was a shortage of available combi boilers country wide , in addition we had to satisfy the Freeholders of the property as it was a leasehold flat and the tenant was without hot water. We worked together and Rob not only managed to provide drawings of the job approved by the Freeholder but also source the Baxi Combo of choice and installed it within a week and with an excellent deal on price to boot! Thus great satisfaction was achieved for myself the Landlord and my tenant .

Lift floor board and tiles, then cut and cap gas pipe Customer friendly office, clear communications, and everything was as expected. Engineer was great - helpful and cleared up quickly.

Removal of faulty boiler and installation of new boiler. Our 15 year old boiler was leaking, resulting in water running down the wall from our bathroom to our kitchen. We needed a speedy replacement and contacted our usual boiler service company. The company identified that we needed a new boiler but then simply stopped communicating with us when we tried to book them to fit a replacement.

We sent an SOS to HGS via their website and to my surprise Rob responded on the same day and asked for photographs and descriptions from which he was able to identify a new boiler for us. Rob very kindly made some adjustments to the schedule so that our new boiler could be fitted as soon as possible. The work was carried out quickly and efficiently and the area was left tidy. We are very happy with our new boiler.

New boiler HGS replaced my mother’s gas boiler. She is elderly, vunerable and lives aIone. I was able to trust then completely. They gave excellent advice about the best type of boiler for her. I was really impressed by their promptness, punctuality, efficiency, transparency and excellent communications and very touched by their kindness and good humour.

Boiler service on a letting property. I had been recommended by a friend as I needed a boiler service done ASAP on a property that had a tenant and I had a buyer for the property who wouldn’t exchange until the boiler was serviced. I called HGS to explain the situation and they were so helpful and arranged for the service to be done within a few days. All other plumbers I had called couldn’t do for several weeks.

They turned up on the day and confirmed all had been completed. I requested the paperwork so I could pass onto buyer and this was immediately emailed across to me. Very helpful on the phone and it makes a difference when using a company that makes a job go so smoothly.

Emergency repair to pipe work in bathroom which was leaking. HGS carry out plumbing and electrical work at both my residence and at my two rental properties. When my tenant discovered he had a leak under the shower I contacted HGS who advised whilst they had no one free immediately they would send someone as soon as they had finished the job they were working on. As promised we shortly got a call saying a plumber was on their way and we met them there. They quickly sorted the leak and soaked up as much of the water as they could leaving the bathroom clean and tidy. The invoice was sent and paid promptly.

I had a leaking toilet and a non working tap at my shop . I’ve used this company before in December for a service and repair on my back boiler and fire at my home and I was very happy then with the service they provided . I’ve just used this company again to fix a leaking toilet and a tap that didn’t work at all in my place of work , I spoke to Mike and he was really helpful and asked me to send pictures , within ten minutes I had an engineer on his way to my salon in Norwich . The work was carried out quickly and there was no distribution with clients . Had an emergency right before Christmas as we got keys to our new property which came with a leaking and faulty boiler! despite a busy time they got to us super fast and fit us a brand new boiler which has been a dream they even came back on Christmas Eve to fix a leak caused by a blockage in a connecting drain. Toilet repair I’ve used HGS on a number of jobs over the last couple of years including a boiler replacement, gas safety certificates and repairs to taps and toilet.

They have completed all jobs quickly and to an excellent standard. The office has been incredibly easy to communicate with - often sending someone round / putting together a quote within a day or two. Their on site staff are always friendly and professional and are a delight to deal with. Prices have always been reasonable and good value for money.

New boiler fitted. Having called HGS out to look at my faulty boiler, they checked I still had hot water before arranging a call out for the following day. On arrival, we discussed if it was cost effective to fix the boiler or whether to replace. I had already decided I probably wanted to replace so the engineer left my home telling me I would receive a call from the office with a quote for a new boiler. Whilst here he took some photos and details to feed to the office so they could advise on the best options. Whilst waiting for a call I did some research online regarding boilers to get an idea if price. Within an hour of the engineer leaving, the office called with a very cost effective option. As this was on a Friday, they arranged to do some juggling of appointments for the next week so that I could have my new boiler installed on the Monday! I received a detailed quote over the phone and then followed up by email.

On Monday, two engineers turned up first thing as promised. They worked efficiently, tidily and were really nice guys who were obviously very experienced in what they do. They ensured I was totally happy before leaving.

The next morning, I received a courtesy call from the office to make sure I was completely happy before they emailed by invoice over.

All in all, I would never have imagined having a new boiler would be such a seamless, easy process and I can only imagine it’s due to the fantastic staff (both office and engineers) employed by HGS. Highly recommend,

Tap fitted on outside wall of house We had a tap fitted on the outside of our house by HGS Plumbing. From start to finish, the communication was excellent. The plumber who came to carry out the work was very friendly and professional. Will definitely use this company again

Bathroom leak from old shower unit. There''s a bit of a stereotype about plumbers... that they keep promising to call, but never show up. But HGS were totally the opposite. They were friendly and helpful on the phone, were concerned to find out how serious my leak was... fixed a time, were there as promised... and were quick, friendly and helpful when they arrived.
They even called back a day later to check everything was OK.
It was. First class!
I found them through the Norfolk County Council Trusted Traders directory, and they deserve to be there.

Emergency repair to gas boiler and refurbishment of lavatory cistern We had a boiler breakdown and leaking cistern during Covid-19 lockdown and it was difficult to find help. HGS agreed to fit us in at short notice. They rang us to let us know when the engineer was coming. He made an inspection and told us what the problems were - he wasn''t able to fix them in that visit.

The office rang us a little while later to explain the cost of the proposed fixes and schedule a further visit the next day. Again they rang us to let us know when he was coming. He carried out both repairs efficiently, after explaining what was going to be done. He was also happy to answer my questions.

I was told the invoice would be emailed to me and it was. The amount was the same as that quoted over the phone.

All in all, this was a very good service.

Fixing the controls on my boiler I was very pleased they could come out quickly and fix the boiler controls, and check the gas fire. We had just moved in, and due to Corona virus was finding it difficult to find someone who could come out to fix the heating system in a reasonable time frame. The worker who came checked the system thoroughly, and reset the system so I could control the boiler. He also checked that the gas fire was working properly and did a smoke test. Unfortunately I can’t remember his name, but arrived on time, and he did the job required. Good service.

Repair and investigation of old boiler. Replace old boiler for new including a system power flush. Replace a radiator. I am a new customer to HGS Plumbing. I was impressed by the time the team took to discuss and explain everything to me. The engineers were professional and the work very thorough. I recommend.

Removed old boiler from kitchen and installed new boiler in upstairs airing cupboard with new gas pipework from meter cupboard to new boiler location. They’ve done several domestic plumbing/heating jobs for me over the last few years, most recently in replacing my boiler in early January this year.

Power flushing my radiators and diagnostic work on my boiler and final replacement of the boiler as it sadly could not be repaired.
All the work was completed in good time and the lads cleaned up so well I didn’t even know they had been there.
Once the guys from HGS started the flushing work it was good to be shown what they had managed to clear from the pipes. I could immediately see I d made the right decision to get this done.
Unfortunately my boiler pump was finished after trying to push water through all the sludge so that had to be replaced. It was freezing weather at the time and Rob and Mike made sure the replacement was installed and commissioned within a couple of days and I now have an efficient heating system.
To help with the unexpected cost of the new boiler the company agreed to phased payments over 6 months which has helped massively. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend HGS to anyone in similar circumstances.

HGS fixed my mum''s boiler and got her heating and hot water working again. I called HGS and explained that my mum had a very old back boiler that had broken down, leaving her with no heating or hot water. An engineer had a look at the system and called to say he thought he could fix it by replacing a part, but if that didn''t work he''d have to replace another part as well. He talked me through all of the costs so that there would be no nasty surprises. In the end the engineer was able to fix the system by replacing just one part and my mum now has heating and hot water.

My Baxi Combi boiler received a new Actuator and PCB/board following an illusive fault code, later it received a replacement water temp adjuster knob assembly for no additional charge. Initially when I called they listened and suggested that I email them a few details to save me an initial call out that I greatly appreciated. The fault code is an ambiguous one but they had the knowledge, experience and foresight to know with some confidence that replacing the PCB would most likely clear the fault code. They recommend replacing the Actuator whilst ''in there'' but it was completely my choice. I was booked in and the repair was completed on the day and the area left spotless. The boiler then was back to running perfectly. Unfortunately the temperature adjustment knob came off, which was no ones fault as the boiler is twelve years old however they inspected the boiler, ordered the necessary parts and installed them promptly and for free.
This is not a level of service I have ever experienced and I can''t recommend them enough. They were recommended to me and I have since recommend them to others. It is daunting using a company for the first time especially when it involves plumbing/heating but they genuinely cared and did everything they promised and then went beyond. They are polite and friendly, hard working and dutiful moreover good communicators who you can trust completely.

Replacement of leaking central heating pipe to radiator. Very helpful and arrived to carryout repair during proposed window on the day. A phone call 15-30 mins before arrival would be an added benefit but was not essential. All in all I would recommend HGS.

Combi Boiler Replacement From my initial phone call to request a quote for a new combi boiler - to installation took 4 working days. Rob and his colleagues couldn’t have done more to accommodate me. The communication throughout was extremely good, although my engineer unfortunately went off sick on the morning of installation, they rearranged things and it went ahead the next day. The engineer Danny who replaced my boiler was very professional, friendly and carried out his work thoroughly and left the area very tidy. The final bill was to estimate, and reasonable. I will certainly be using them from now on.

The company responds to my calls in a prompt manner. The repair is normally completed within a few days.
I found staff working for HGS to be approachable, very friendly and polite. When they visit your house, they treat it with respect and always leave their work place clean.
They have good working attitude and trying their best to complete the repair with minimal cost to the customer.
If there was something with the repair that I was not fully satisfied, they were always happy to pop in and adjust it according to my request.

Emergency repair to gas installation pipe work I needed a job done urgently and HGS responded quickly and in a professional manner. They were polite and helpful from the outset and the office staff went beyond the call of duty to solve my dilemma. I had caused damage to a customer’s gas pipe during a gardening job I was undertaking. HGS recognised that my reputation was at stake as well as understanding that my customer was vulnerable and needed the repair done asap. They saved my bacon and helped ensure my customer did not suffer any more than necessary. Mike in the office kept me updated with their progress which allowed me to continue working elsewhere. Removal of broken kitchen tap and fitting of new Contacted HGS on a Friday morning hoping to get the kitchen tap sorted out same day and my call was answered promptly. They were very helpful and an estimate for the work was provided based on a photo I provided. They said they would do their best to fit the work in that day which they did.

The plumber was polite, efficient and tidy. The actual cost came in under the estimate.

Both Rob on the phone handling my gabbled explanation of the problem and Matt who arrived withing the hour and got us sorted. Will not hesitate to use them again.

A full test for water leakage. HGS Plumbing & Heating have serviced my boiler for two years so when I received a letter from the water company ‘suggesting’ I had a water leak and were putting up my charges substantially I phoned Rob at HGS. He sent out Danny the same day and they conducted a full leakage test. No leaks were detected. He then consulted with his office and phoned Anglian Water, with my permission, on speakerphone and got them to explain their letter and their increased charges. They reduced the amount of their direct debit and said that the letter was misleading and if I sent them the invoice they would reimburse me. I could not have done this on my own as I have Acquired Brain Injury. HGS went above and beyond and I am very grateful to them.

This company were called in to install a replacement hot tap in my kitchen. Prior to this the company was unknown to me. I am delighted to report how helpful and supportive everyone was. The task was not straightforward as the manufacturer of the tap sent the wrong item and a delay then ensued. However everyone I dealt with at HGS remained calm and reassuring.

Eventually all turned out well. Matt, the plumber was very polite, diligent and thorough, not leaving until he was certain the new fitting worked properly. Mike, my contact with the office, was unfailingly positive and encouraging. Appointments made were reliably kept and I was always contacted ahead of time to confirm availability.

I have no hesitation in recommending this company, and will certainly use them again myself if/when the need arises.

Boiler repair. As someone that trains customer service for a living I can tell you that HGS provide the best example of customer experience that I have witnessed in a long time. First-rate customer care, extremely friendly and reliable. My boiler broke down leaving me with no hot water or heating. HGS did everything possible to ensure it was up and running again in no time. I have been trying for a number of weeks to get an issue with a shower pump resolved at my elderly mother’s property. Eventually I turned to Trusted Trader and rang HGS.
I explained the situation to Rob and whilst maintaining my expectations that he may not be able to resolve the situation he nevertheless went to Mother’s the following day.
Fortunately the pump only needed re setting, which Rob was able to deal with, so job done!

Topped up water in boiler and explained how to do this ourselves in future. HGS supplied and fitted our gas combo boiler in 2016 and have maintained it since then. Recently we discovered we had no hot water or heating because the boiler water pressure had fallen after we bled the radiators. We tried to top up the water but could not do it. I phoned HGS at about 5pm, they couldn’t do anything immediately but said they would try to help in the morning. About 9am an engineer arrived and quickly fixed the problem. He also explained what we needed to do if it occurred again. I’m very pleased with the quick and helpful service.

Electra shower replacement Great guys to deal with - fast efficient- very professional- highly recommended

Replaced siphon in lavatory. Fitted new basin mixer taps, connected water supply & tested all.
Plumbers arrived on time, worked quickly and left no mess. They are friendly and gave good advice and guidance, as I needed to replace old taps and wanted a mixer that fitted where two singles had been removed.

Remove old combi boiler and supply and fit a new one. Having found my old boiler was uneconomical to repair(12 years old) - HGS advised me on a suitable replacement and discussed fully the various options available to me and answered all questions I had concerning the installation.

I decided on the replacement boiler and asked for work to be carried out. HGS were able to supply the boiler and begin installation the following day, completing the job the morning after.


I was kept informed throughout the whole process; when work would begin, what would be done and the full cost.


The engineer showed up on time, was polite, friendly and efficient. His work was of a high standard, he explained what he was doing and answered my questions. When he had finished he cleaned up and left the area tidy, then explained fully how to use the new boiler and completed the paperwork.

Diagnosis of Faulty boiler and replacement of that boiler with a new unit. Would definitely use again, very professional and efficient service. Work was completed as quoted on time and of a very high standard. Good customer service and explained all charges etc before work started. They finished and left everything clean and tidy.

Provide chemical power flush on domestic central heating system, replace valves etc. and annual boiler service We have used HGS for our last 3 annual boiler services and this year we also asked them to attend to two non-functioning radiators. After various procedures were carried out it was concluded that a full chemical power flush of the system was necessary. Throughout this work the engineer - Danny - was extremely thorough and courteous, constantly updating us on what he was doing. Similarly Rob in the office regularly phoned to update us on options available and their costs. We now have a system which is much more efficient and we cannot praise their work and level of customer service highly enough.

Boiler repair, PCB replacement. Our boiler stopped working on Sunday 30/09/18, no display screen, I spoke to HGS on Monday morning, by Tuesday morning we had a new PCB fitted and boiler was up and running again.

Boiler service which brought up the expected fault I had been experiencing, which was the diverter valve and heat exchanger. Quoted between 330-415 plus vat depending on whether the heat exchanger needed replacing. I cannot recommend Mike and the team at HGS enough. They have been incredible, arrived when they said they would, work carried out in a very efficient manner, engineer very friendly (important when my wife is at home with our little baby), and within the amount they said it would be. Highly recommend these guys. So many bad gas engineers out there, i''ll definitely be using HGS again in the future

I had my combi boiler serviced and a new wireless controller and receiver fitted. The engineer showed up at the agreed time, was polite, friendly and kept me informed what he was doing. Once he identified the fault, he called his manager who spoke to me and told me the cost of the repair and explained the payment terms.

Work was completed within one hour and I was left with the boiler functioning correctly. An invoice was emailed to me one month later.

Great service and I will use HGS again when the boiler needs servicing or repair.

Gas boiler servicing I phoned to arrange a service of my boiler and from that very first phone call they were a pleasure to deal with. They even managed to get out to me later that same day as they’d had a cancellation even though it’s the busiest time of year for boiler servicing!

We have recently used them again for our own property, firstly for a standard boiler service and then again to fix a fault which materialised. Again, the service was great and charges reasonable we felt.

With the fault, they went above and beyond to help us and came out to us with the replacement part, to fit it the same morning we called - we had a newborn baby in the house and no heating or hot water so really appreciated this first class customer service!

Replacement of part for ball cock valve in cold water tank to cure loud noise on refilling. Washer replaced in kitchen tap. The work was done promptly and very successfully. Our loft is not easy to access and contains loose insulation material which is difficult to deal with but despite this the work was completed with great efficiency and good humour. I would thoroughly recommend this company.

Leaking valve on hot water cylinder I have used HGS probably 3 times in the last few years. I have never dealt with any firm that is so helpful, professional and customer-centred. The phone is answered promptly and politely. Every effort is made to get an engineer to the property as soon as possible. Even on the odd occasion when the phone is busy, the automated system tells you where you are in the queue instead of listening to the usual drivel of "your call is important to us.." which you know is not true and still leaves you hanging on wondering whether you will be connected in the next minute or two or in the next 6 hours.

The engineers are polite and friendy, they do an expert job and there is no mess. The firms charges are reasonable and competitive and importantly they deliver value to the customer.

If you don''t take any notice of this reference you have only yourself to blame.

Our boiler broke completely and they were the only company that made sure we didn''t have to wait a month without hot water and heating. A service was booked for a gas boiler and fire but the fitter found a fault with the boiler that would have been more expensive to correct than installing a new one. A new boiler was fitted and the fire serviced. I contacted the firm as my son needed the gas appliances serviced before the sale of his flat. Although it was short notice Rob fitted the job in and kept me informed at each stage of the work. As I was not able to be at the flat for the second visit for the replacement boiler to be fitted I gave the key to Rob and was very impressed with the work done and how tidy and clean the flat had been left.
