Dan responded v quickly to my request through Trusted Trader, was able to come next day. He trimmed 2 internal doors for us that were dragging on newly laid carpet,and on travertine floor tiles.
The door that was dragging on carpet,he took off just the right amount so that it no longer caught,but also wouldn't be draughty.(Porch door). The door dragging on floor tiles was the door to the office where my husband wfh,he was mindful of this and said he'd do porch door 1st so my husband could get on with his work.
He arrived on time and completed the job v quickly and tidily,was v pleasant and polite.
Grateful he could come out and do a small job to him,albeit one that needed doing! We'll be sure to contact him again when we need any other carpentry jobs doing,and would not hesitate to recommend. Thankyou v much,Dan.

Dan did a variety of work for us, ranging from custom built wardrobes, and front door to match the original that had sadly rotted. Along with various cupboards, shelving, panelling and finishes. All completed to a high standard in a very pleasant and professional manner. He always arrived on time and left no mess. He is very knowledgeable and had some good ideas for utilising the space. He always provided good advice and a great range of cost effective solutions.

Significant works as part of my house renovation including skirting, building cupboards from scratch, fitting doors, architrave, floorboards, fitting fireplace lintels and window sills. Dan''s workmanship, care and customer service are exemplary. He is a very talented tradesman with a lot of experience in the industry. I have no hesitation in recommending his services to any prospective clients and have already passed his details on to friends and family.

Removal of old rotten fence panels and wooden fence posts on both sides of the garden, replacing with concrete posts, concrete gravel boards, and close/featherboard fence panels. Additional gravel boards where our side of the fence sat below ground level. Also installed new wooden gate at the back of the garden. Very professional and pleasant to deal with.

Dan came out and took detailed measurements and gave advice on how best to replace and install the new fence and gate, including recommending some additional gravel boards where our fence sits below ground level (on our side) to preserve the fence for longer.

Dan and his helper James turned up bright and early for work each day and did a superb job installing a new, much better, and much straighter fence than the old one we had. They took time and care to ensure everything was done correctly and kept us informed of any decisions or small adjustments needed.

The fence went up in under a week which was excellent considering the amount of panels to remove and replace and the troublesome amount of concrete and rubble from previous fence posts in the ground. Both Dan and James were friendly and cheerful despite the rainy weather conditions.

Once finished they tidied up their tools and swept/hosed down the garden areas they had been working leaving everything tidy.

We were so pleased with his work that when he was finished, we immediately asked him for another quote to replace our rotting wooden garden sleepers/steps. I''m sure he''ll do just a good a job on these.

We used Dan as he was recommended by my sister whose fence he also worked on and have no hesitation recommending him to others.

Installed a stair rail and rehung downstairs toilet door for safer access for relative with reduced mobility From our first contact with Dan by phone we found him to be professional and friendly. He was free to visit the house that day and assessed the work required and emailed us with an invoice within 24 hours. We were happy with the quote and he was then able to provide us with a date to commence the work within a week. He kept us up to date with any changes by email and phone so we knew exactly what was happening.
On the day he was punctual, kept any disruption to a minimum and tidied after himself.
Overall we are very happy with the work he did and wouldn’t hesitate to use him again.

We recently had orangery built and needed a door between there and the kitchen with a lock.

In the area previously a dining room, the 4 new base kitchen units had to be fitted to the wall, worktops fitted to 5 units and the bottom kick boards fitted.

We selected Dan from the Trusted Trader site.

We purchased the worktop and accessories and the door ourselves.
We contacted Dan by email and his response was prompt to arrange a site visit with a short lead time. Dan was thorough in assessing the job, advising us that the door we had purchased (on advice from else ware) was not suitable. Luckily Wickes exchanged the door for the correct one.
Dan provided a very competitive estimate promptly and we immediately agreed to go ahead with the work by email. Dan responded with a provisional start week which fitted our plans exactly.
Dan arrived early,he carried out the work with efficiency and tidiness and was respectful of our home. Dan is an excellent tradesman his workmanship skills are very good and he is a really nice guy, polite and friendly,all at the right balance we have found as star!We would not hesitate to recommend him.

Installing MDF picture rails in two rooms of the house, and erecting a wooden garden arch in a complicated setting Daniel responded to my request promptly and fitted my job in to a busy schedule. I worked with him (painting the picture rails and helping to support the garden arch during installation) which was good, and fun. He provided the necessary technical expertise and tools and did the installations - inside and outside - with great skill and to high standards, and adapted to do some unexpected tasks during the process! I am very pleased with the results. He is a very personable professional and I would recommend him without hesitation.

Excellent workmanship

Installation of kitchen cabinets, a work top and a single shelf I have used Dan for several carpentry projects around the house in the past and can always be relied upon to complete any job to a very high standard.

I especially respect the way that he takes time to listen to my requirements and is able to suggest suitable alternatives and to readily overcome any challenges with workable solutions.

I have high expectations of Dan''s work and he never fails to exceed them. I wouldn''t trust anyone else to carry out my carpentry projects and would thoroughly recommend his services.

Laying patio and replacing fencing. Work completed to a very high standard.

Six oak internal doors hung with handles fitted. Price for fitting only. Dan was responsive and called me back quickly when I first contacted which was great as all too often you never hear back from leaving messages.. He was friendly and professional throughout and worked very hard finishing ahead of schedule. He arrived on time both mornings. Dan provided helpful advice regarding adding door hooks etc and how to finish/varnish the doors myself. He vacuumed as he went along and was very tidy indeed. I would not hesitate to recommend him as a trustworthy and friendly tradesman to have working in your home and will use him again next time we need carpentry expertise.

New kitchen installation, dry lining and plastering 3 internal walls, decorating 4 rooms and various bits and pieces Dan carried out extensive renovation work on a rental property I own. He organised everything really well and I would highly recommend him to anyone. His workmanship is first class, he is very trustworthy and his prices are competitive. He is easy to contact and always returns calls. He discussed jobs with me as they progressed and was very organised, clean and tidy. I have used him several times now and have no hesitation in recommending him.

Kitchen fitting Dan has been brilliant- neat, tidy, efficient, quality work, friendly and great time keeping.

Construction of fitted wardrobe with bi-fold doors. Dan built a fitted wardrobe with bi-fold doors for our box room. He was punctual, pleasant and polite and he worked in a very focused and methodical manner. He tidied up when the work was complete. The wardrobe is solidly built and looks great. We would be happy to use his services again.

Dan designed and created a picket fence to make our garden secure for our new dog to have the freedom to roam. The fence and gate are perfect. Dan did the work while we were away on holiday as we trust him implicitly since he has helped us in the past.

Building a fitted wardrobe Dan completed our fitted wardrobe to a very high standard, he arrived when he said and cleaned up. A friendly and likeable man we would have no hesitation about using again or recommend him to others. His price was also very reasonable

I had some internal doors replaced, four were standard internal doors and three were double glazed uPVC replacement doors which lead on to a conservatory extension. The work was, therefore, done in two phases. Dan was very prompt to visit to inspect the job I wanted doing and to give me a quote. I was kept clearly informed about timescales and Dan arrived very early on the days he worked so that I could leave for work on time. I left him with a front door key with no problems.
The finish to the completed work is to a very high standard and has attracted mamy appreciative comments. There was minimal mess,mainly cleared away by Dan and I have no complaints. The uPVC doors required inspection by Building Control, a process through which Dan was happy to advise me. The Building Inspector reviewed them very quickly and was pleased with the standard of work.I would recommend this company highly.

Fitted internal doors and make good trim on several doors. From initial conduct through to completion, Dan was polite, always on time and respectful towards our property. His standard of workmanship and attention to detail was outstanding.

Absolutely first class service. Came by personal recommendation. Ticked all the boxes which one hopes for, as shown in replies to questionnaire. Punctuality is a matter we put a lot of store by, and was always spot on.

All the work, even when disruptive, was carried out in a personable way, and we were fully consulted as to possible options or minor problems when carrying out the work.

Would highly recommend this business and intend to use them again.

Fit kitchen units including Hob and sink in worktops box in pipe work and generally make good I have used Dan and his business on a number of occasions in the past so when it came to choosing a company to install my new kitchen there was only one choice.
Everything has been completed to the highest standard with the fit and finish being outstanding. He clears up afterwards.
He is 100% reliable and arrives on time and is a non smoker so no “fag breaks”.

My beautiful new FITTED KITCHEN Mr Vickers came highly recommended by a friend of mine after he carried out several repairs and improvements to her two properties. I was able to see Mr Vickers'' work for myself and was so impressed that I delayed my kitchen installation until he was available.
The accuracy and patience with which he works ensured a superb finish to my new kitchen.
The kitchen manufacturer supplied the splashback that matches the worktop in almost the exact length required, leaving no room for error. In order to ensure a successful outcome, Mr Vickers did a dummy run with a length of hardboard to check his measurements were correct. They were.
Aside from the quality of his work, Mr Vickers is tidy and removes all dust and shavings as he works.
He is a well-presented and personable man who is polite and pleasant to have working in your home.

Build two shelving units with cupboards This is the first time we have used Dan and we were very impressed by his standard of work. He was very punctual, polite and reactive to design changes we made during the work. We wouldn''tt hesitate to recommend him.

Initially asked Den to do small jobs in bathroom; put up roller wall mirror & towel holder. Called Dan back to replace 7 internal doors. Really pleased with the jobs Dan completed in the bathroom. I called him back to replace 7 internal doors - all door out of square and different sizes. Completed job was excellent. Dan is a polite, friendly chap who does an excellent job. Cleaned up each day Barley knew he had been here! Highly recommended.

Replacing and plumbing new cloakroom suite. Removal of fireplace and making wall good. Replacing kitchen worktops. Tiling. Painting and decorating. Replacing door handles. Dan is fab. He was polite, puntual, explained himself in plain English and very hard working. Everything you could ask for in a builder / handyman. Would certainly use him again.

Various jobs & amounts. Nice guy- good worker. Has helped sort out numerous problems and jobs that our old 1930’s bungalow holds. Happy to do small jobs right through to awkward large jobs. Little does he know – he will be back!

Rebuilding 1920s wooden porch I found DJ Building and Carpentry through the Trusted Traders site and am delighted with the outcome of tge work done. Dan did a wonderful job of replacing a 1920''s porch in the right style, was reliable and kept me well informed throughout.

Insulated cold dormer, bedroom with insulation boards and re-plastered walls. A pleasure to have in the house. No trouble what so ever.
