Restoration of my garden after a car had driven into the back wall and completely devastated my very pretty garden. Ace of Spades were very sensitive to my garden being lost. The worked in close communication with the builder who was rebuilding the wall so that the plants etc were in the correct place and they had a good time line together.

I was away at work and on holiday for some of the time and they finished the work without me being there, they did exactly what I asked for with sound advice to me about what was possible. I was able to leave them on my property and felt that they could be completely trusted.

Design and create a low maintenance garden with provision for wildlife The work was carried out professionally and to plan and even though an issue arose over products supplied this was dealt with efficiently and as quickly as possible. All members of the team were friendly and polite.

Sundry pruning including removing dead wood from a large walnut tree; pruning an overgrown pyrecantha hedge;felling two small trees. The two men who carried out the work were efficient and methodical.They were careful of other planting and were sympathetic to plants and habitat and enjoyed their work.

New turf, hedge planting,tree care. Tree care was good but quality of the landscaping and preparation for turf was not so good.
Poor levelling of ground pre turfing left low areas in the new lawn which are prone to water logging after rain and can now only be rectified by top dressing and at further expense.
I was billed for extra ground prep works but this was not agreed before work had taken place.
Lawn area was measured for required turf quantities by Ace of Spades then a quotation was received and agreed. Insufficient turf was ordered by them and then I was billed for the make up amount, which I refused to pay.

Lopping large eucalyptus, taking out old elder, trimming holly and mountain ash and budleighas Mike Barkers''s firm answered my initial telephone call promptly, kept in touch per e mail, started the work on time and was professional and frienldy. His team of gardeners, 3 of them, were also very commendable.

Mike and his team did an excellent job with our trees and shrubs. They are very efficient and left everywhere clean and tidy. Also nice, friendly people to have around. We will use them again.

Old turf & pampas grass removed. vegetable bed created, trellis and archways installed to create a working area of the garden. New turf laid, and a corner patio and radial pergola created, with stepping stones laid, to create a leisure area. Trellis and archways have been covered with climbers, espalier fruit trees planted in the working area, trees and plants planted in the leisure area.
We asked Ace of Spades to do our front garden last year, and were so impressed with the work carried out that we asked them to come back to do our back garden. They are a very professional firm, and clearly love what they are doing. This showed in their commitment to creating our garden and getting it just right. When we thanked them for the work they had done, they thanked us for letting them do it and said how much they had enjoyed creating our garden! They arrived when they said they would, and if they had to change any dates, they let us know well in advance. They got on well with the work while they were here, and made sure they cleared up afterwards. They ensured that the plants they supplied were healthy, and from a good supplier. They left us with instructions on how to care for the garden, and have since emailed to check all is going OK. They impressed on us that we could contact them at any time if we had any problems, or needed any advice. Yes, they are a tad on the expensive side, but you do get what you pay for. In this case, I feel we received top quality service, workmanship and products, and have a garden that we can enjoy, and that will only get better as the plants mature and bed in with time.

Very pleased with the work completed, was kept informed by Mike every step of the way, Mike, Josh and Owen will be highly recommended in the future and would have no doubt in contacting them again regarding tree work.

Tree work - having obtained the necessary planning permission on our behalf, lifting the crown of a sycamore tree and selectively reducing the branches overhanging our garden. An excellent job carried out by a professional team.

They had previously removed 2 trees from our garden and had done it well with the minimum of disruption. I would certainly use them again if I needed to. Slight criticism that although I had briefed Michael both through e mails and at a meeting he obviously had failed to pass on to the men the details so minor jobs were not done.

The price below does not include the price of the shrubs. The work on the garden is still ongoing, but so far I have been very impressed with Ace of Spades. They have kept in touch throughout the process, and have returned phone calls etc when they promised to do so. If there have been any changes to schedule we have been kept fully informed. They have been very professional throughout. Full aftercare instructions for the grass has been provided, and we have been promised full aftercare instructions for the shrubs, which I am sure we will receive. They are also very approachable, and I feel happy that if I have any questions after the work is finished I will be able to ring for advice. They do seem to really care about what they are doing -their sole motivation seems to be achieving a good result, and not money. The garden looks beautiful so far, and I am really pleased with it. We picked them out from a local magazine, and I am very pleased we did so.

Pruning to roses and other shrubs, spraying of weeds and tree work. First time we have used this company. Very pleased with work carried out especially tree work and pruning.

Weed control very good in some areas but weak in others. Under the willow tree no difference has been made and will appreciate Mike coming back to have a look, which I know he will, and would have already done so if I had contacted him sooner.

Only wish he could supply me with someone to help me with general garden care, as we are so very busy and I don''t seem to catch up in the garden!
