Extension to back and internal works I would recommend this company to anybody in fact I already have done. They were both absolute diamonds and I couldn't have asked for better!!

Knock out kitchen / diner wall and fire place. Plaster walls. Block up existing doorway. Install patio doors and lighting. Excellent work and skills. Job completed on time. Attention to detail excellent. Very pleased.

Paved 18 meters x 3 meters approx also in front of my house approx 3 meters by 1 meter. The 18 meters etc was other side of my house. I would recommend John Thomson and his colleague to anyone who needed this type of work. They were completely trustworthy and excellent workers who tidied up each might after they had finished.

The principal job tendered for was a detached garage and workshop. The works were executed in a very timely fashion following presentation of basic building plans and our personal preference for appearance and insulation. Including drainage alterations, electrical conduit from the house, incorporation of the garden water supply and a drain, all the works were completed in the timescale offered and the expected finish quality including the supply and fitting of a garage door, side door and window. John, Stewart & Frank worked as an obviously well practised team. Materials and domestic supplies were not wasted and work was carried out with the least disruption to ourselves and a care for finished appearance. After half way through the project we had confidence to seek their quote for further work on the property which was also carried out to our entire satisfaction. Communication about the works progress and direction was regular and clean-up was comprehensive and billing was clear which assured us there would be no surprise at the finish. The conduct of John, Stewart and Frank was very good, there being no bad language and had every respect for the household and our neighbours. I recommend 1st class building service because that is what it delivers-quite rare these days.

Extension to lounge. Bedroom and ensuite built above garage. Turned up when they said and only undertake one job at a time.
Happy to return and resolve minor matter after the work was completed.

Building Work John and Stewart Norman at First Class Home Improvements are fantastic builders, and come highly recommended by us! We are delighted with the quality of their workmanship over the past five weeks - during which time they have completed the renovation and extension of our house (a project unfortunately left unfinished by our previous builder). We have been hugely impressed by their work ethic, skilled craftsmanship, time management and budget management. They are also both very pleasant people - polite, kind, patient and cheerful.

All of this is so completely different from our previous builder, who treated us so badly over the course of the previous 10 months. We had our fingers very badly burnt - but John and Stewart Norman have jointly restored our faith in the building trade! We would not hesitate in recommending them to our family and friends - and will also happily ask them back for any future building work at our house!

Grand floor front extension remodeling upstairs layout, kitchen fitting and bathroom fitting. John and Stewat worked efficiently and accurately. They would meet expectation and agree changes we made and checkup on queries we had.

Single storey extension. Absolutely delighted with the work. This father and son team were reliable, on-time and very skilled. 1st class home improvements.. they certainly lived up to their name.

2 storey extension. From start to finish we were delighted with the service. John and Stewart are very professional and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. Their only concern was that we were happy with the finished product.

Extension and fitted kitchen This is the second time I have used the firm. I chose them because of the excellent job they did before.
They get on with the job and keep me informed of the next stage and what will happen. They do not disappear for days as I have heard some builders do!

Repair of passageway roof between garage & bungalow. Dispose of plastic roof, fit new timbers & decking to flat roof. Impulate with fibre glass, fit plaster board to underside not outside. Felt roof to join up to new roof. There was a leak where roof joins conservatory short time after completion. Mr. Norman called back to repair it after heavy rain. A further leak had occurred but see no point in calling Mr. Norman yet again. I have had a check made on the roof in question by two other firms who have been recommended who think it is poor.

You never know quite what to expect when you use a company for the 1st time. We really were surprised how friendly, reliable and considerate 1st Class Builders were. They are competitive on price, quiet and complete the work on time and to a high standard.

Build new extension. And would use again.

I called this company as one of three; the first one gave a fairly cheap quote on the phone without a visit even. The second made a site visit and a good amount of product, said it could be done in the period required and gave a price. This company came and measured up gave a fair quotation said they could do job in the required period. Offered two qualities of door, I chose the better quality and as their price was in the middle of the three I chose them and am glad I did.

Written quotation received in past. Telephone call when ready to install at stated time, kept to arrangement made about fitting and dates and time of day. Would recommend as friendly, cleaned up afterwards polite and helpful. Very pleased.

Extension, new kitchen, lounge, new brick, garage with roller doors replace existing windows. We use 1st class B/S because we know the work they do will be their best. This is the 3rd time we have used them. As we tell all our friends "all you can ask for is honesty reliability, hard work, consideration and a job well done", also polite and friendly. It is a pleasure to have them onsite.

Recommended by a friend and able to see the quality of workmanship before deciding to use them. Despite very difficult working conditions work was undertaken to a high standard, with little disruption. Site was tidied up at the end of each day. I would definitely use them again.

From quotation to completion, the builder was very helpful and efficient. Explain various options available and was more than happy to supply alternative quotations. Work was completed on time and in a very satisfactory manner. We are very pleased with the work.
